about the Artist
Tasha Compos is a mixed media artist and educator living and working on Maui. Her work grows from a love of process, experimentation, and the unexpected places a painting can go when you stop trying to control every outcome.
Layers of paint, collage, marks, and texture are built up, covered, scraped, and sanded back, allowing fragments of earlier decisions to surface in new ways. What begins with intention often takes an unexpected turn, creating work that is tactile, energetic, and continually evolving.

The work begins with layers. Paint, collage, marks, and texture accumulate across the surface before being scraped, sanded, covered, and uncovered again. The process is part intention, part surprise, and always an invitation to see what happens next.
